Dear MoveOn member,

Congress is on the verge of passing the most transformative piece of legislation since the New Deal, one that would begin to tackle climate change, tax the rich, and finally create paid family leave in the United States—but there is a small group of nine conservative Democrats in Congress hell-bent on stopping it from passing.

One of the leaders of this group is Representative Henry Cuellar of Texas, the last remaining anti-abortion Democrat in Congress, and MoveOn is joining forces with our progressive allies to take him on.

MoveOn has purchased time to run an ad during tonight's Houston Texans football game in Cuellar's district that will let his constituents know that Cuellar is trying to stop this bill, and will call on them to take action. But we don't want to stop there.

We want to buy ad time during the Cowboys vs. Eagles division game on ESPN's "Monday Night Football" on September 27—which is likely to be watched by tens of thousands of Cuellar's constituents and could have an enormous impact on changing his position. But ads during "Monday Night Football" are some of the most expensive to purchase, and we need your help to make it happen.

Will you chip in $3 now to help us get our ad on "Monday Night Football" and hold Cuellar and the other obstructionist Democrats accountable?

The primary goal of these nine corporate-backed conservative Democrats in blocking this legislation is, disgustingly, to protect their ultra-wealthy donors.

These corporate-loving conservative Democrats want people like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, who added billions of dollars to their personal wealth during the pandemic while their workers struggled to feed their families, to continue paying little or no tax on their unending wealth.

Because Democrats hold only a five-seat majority in the House, these nine obstructionists could sink the entire process, blocking the bill from passing and stopping the vital, life-changing provisions within it from becoming law and helping tens of millions of Americans.

We won't let that happen.

We are running digital ads, flooding the offices of these Democrats with calls, and helping constituents in their districts organize rallies to garner local press—which these representatives pay close attention to—and if they continue to obstruct, MoveOn will flex its electoral muscles and work to support progressive primary challengers who can unseat these corporate Democrats and serve the people, not special interests.

But our biggest gambit is to blanket these districts with television ads during some of the most-watched prime-time events—and that starts with the Cowboys vs. Eagles game during "Monday Night Football" on September 27.

If we are able to break Rep. Cuellar off from this group of obstructionists, the dominoes will begin to fall and we will be able to get this bill passed—but we need to make a huge splash to get it done.

Will you chip in $3 to help us get our ad on the air during "Monday Night Football," continue to pressure these corporate-backed Democrats, and, if needed, spin up campaigns to kick them out of office and replace them with progressive leaders who will stand for people, not profits?

Thanks for all you do.
