** Letter to Constituents

Dear Constituent,

With the advent of autumn and the new academic year, it has been wonderful to get back to face-to-face meetings with constituents and to see in-person the markets, schools, businesses and charities which make Wiltshire such a fantastic county and our constituency such a brilliant community.

With this in mind, I want to raise something that is not only important to me but something important for many local parents and children. At the end of September, I and a keen member of my team will be walking 87 miles of the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal in just 3 days in order to raise money for Holt Pre-School. Wiltshire Council owns the building and the council has recently funded some repairs in the short term, however this is not a sustainable position and a new long-termsolution is needed. I have been exploring all avenues to look for sources of funding and will continue to press the case.

The brilliant local team have raised £155,000 so far through Lottery funding, community grants and local businesses however there is an additional £45,000 that needs to be raised. For the past 50 years Holt nursery has been providing excellent childcare and is a fantastic community asset that we cannot afford to lose.


The nursery is not for profit and runs additional fundraising events and visits local community groups including the Luncheon Club which provides advice and support to families in need. Without a new building, the nursery will need to close and I am absolutely determined to not let this happen.


I am really looking forward to the opportunity to fundraise myself for Holt Pre-School and urge you to follow my progress as I prepare to walk the 87 miles of the Kennet and Avon Canal in 3 days at the end of September.
