What we're learning about The Price of Freedom A new CNN Film, The Price of Freedom, documents how the NRA has shaped American policy and culture for more than five decades. Through archival film and news coverage, the documentary illustrates how the organization has influenced legislation and culture since the landmark bipartisan Gun Control Act of 1968. Remembering 9/11 This year marks the twentieth anniversary of 9/11, where we continue to remember the heroes, victims and survivors.
Last week, CNN Films presented 9/11, a documentary that shows the historic attack on the US from the perspective of the first responders who answered the call on that fateful day. 9/11 also explores where some of those rescuers are today, and introduces viewers to some of the children and other loved ones of fallen firefighters - many of whom have become firefighters themselves.
View the trailer here, then watch the film on demand via HBO Max. If you missed the CITIZEN by CNN panel event, 9/11, 20 Years Later: Remembrance & Ramifications, watch the replay here. The Costume Institute’s next major exhibition will be a two-part show, starting with a livestream of high-profile guests. In America: A Lexicon of Fashion will run from September 18, 2021 - September 5, 2022, and celebrates designs by pioneers of American style. In honor of this new showcase, we're rewatching Halston.
The 2019 documentary explores Halston’s expansive empire, which includes couture, ready-to-wear, fragrances, uniforms, accessories and housewares. He dressed the A-list for the Academy Awards and was a perennial figure in New York’s party scene. Never disconnected from his humble origins, Halston believed chic, sleek style should be as accessible to everyday women as it was to the society mavens that visited his couture salons.
