Folks,

I wanted to send you a note before the Senate heads back into session this week. I spent our short break in August traveling across Virginia, talking about the work we’ve done on COVID relief and rebuilding our infrastructure.

But the past few weeks have also been a trying time for our country.

We’ve seen voting rights under attack across the country -- and extreme weather events fueled by climate change are on the rise.

A terrorist attack in Kabul claimed the lives of 13 of our troops withdrawing from Afghanistan.

An unconstitutional six week abortion ban in Texas and a complicit Supreme Court threaten to roll back reproductive rights around the country.

And right now, we’re less than ten days away from the start of early voting in Virginia.

We've got some big tasks ahead of us. There’s a lot going on right now, but we can’t lose focus when there is so much at risk for Virginia’s families. This November, we need to elect Democrats up and down the ballot -- and in the midterms, we have to hold the Senate.

In the Senate, I’ll be working on bringing folks together and investing in our families and rebuilding our infrastructure -- but with everything on the line, I need this grassroots team to keep up the support so we can keep making progress for families across the country.
