John—Far-right gun extremism is threatening our democracy.

In less than a week, far-right supporters of the January 6th rioters are
planning a rally on Capitol Hill, raising serious concerns about the
potential for more violence.

This rally comes on the heels of a frightening trend in which elected
officials are invoking armed extremism while casting doubt on the core of
our democratic institutions. Just last month, NRA-endorsed Representative
Madison Cawthorn became the latest elected official to use extreme gun
rhetoric when he peddled the dangerous conspiracy theory that our election
system is rigged and suggested that picking up arms against a fellow
American could become necessary.

Elected officials who peddle dangerous conspiracy theories and threaten
gun violence are putting our democracy at risk. Everytown and Moms Demand
Action are working to end gun violence—and that includes defeating
far-right gun extremism. Right now, we need your help to support our
efforts.
