✏️ Wednesday: Nominations for the 2021-2022 Steering Committee officially open

On September 15th at 3pm, nominations will open for the next Atlanta DSA steering committee. You'll be able to submit nominations via this form after 3pm.

 

Per the Nominations Committee, the nominations form will close on Wednesday, September 22nd, at 11:59pm. Floor nominations will be allowed upon informing a member of the Nominations Committee as soon as possible. Please note that only the name, pronouns, office of candidacy, and candidate statement submitted will be made public. The most recent submission will be taken as the final one. Once published, candidate statements may not be changed.

🚔 Wednesday at 7pm: Let's talk about Cop City

Join us for a debrief of the full City Council vote on Cop City. We'll review the work we accomplished with our campaign, analyze what happened with the Tuesday vote, and discuss how we can continue our struggle for an Atlanta that works for working people.

 

✊ Friday at 6pm: Organizing 101: Building a Mass Working Class Organization

Why build a mass organization and what will it take? Join Atlanta DSA's regional field organizer, Kaitlin, for a training that includes historical context, discussions, and breakouts. We'll explore the idea of building a mass organization, and why DSA is committed to becoming a mass working class organization.

 

This training is recommended for all members, but those in leadership roles in the chapter are particularly encouraged to attend. See you there!

 

🚪 Canvass to put a socialist on city council

There are less than 8 weeks till election day and we're going strong knocking on doors and calling voters to spread the news about Rogelio's vision for the working class of Atlanta. Join us to help elect the first socialist to Atlanta City Council.

Think Like a Socialist: Capitalism, Colonialism, Fascism. Join Atlanta DSA's education committee for our second virtual workshop on Tuesday, September 21st at 6:30pm. We'll continue our discussion of the progression of the modes of production and the role that capitalism plays in colonialism and imperialism.
