Dear John,

We #RumbleForRights for elephants because they deserve to live freely just as we do. No human interest—such as going to see an elephant at a zoo or making money off of people doing so—can ever justify taking away from them everything that makes their lives meaningful and worth living. That’s why we were in court today in the Bronx, arguing for the release of our elephant client Happy from solitary confinement in the Bronx Zoo. At sanctuaries like the Performing Animal Welfare Society and The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, elephants with histories even worse than Happy’s have thrived because, for the first time in years, they have ample space to roam, socialize, and make choices about where to go and with whom. Whether it’s by court order or their own choice to do the right thing, the Bronx Zoo needs to promptly #FreeHappy to a sanctuary. Learn more about what happened today and what will happen next on our website and in this video message from NhRP attorney Elizabeth Stein. Thank you for your continued support for Happy’s right to liberty!
