John,
We are at a pivotal point in the fight for climate justice and need your help.
Green New Deal for Public Schools
First, Democrats are negotiating over infrastructure spending that can be passed through budget reconciliation, avoiding Republican threats of the filibuster.
This is a unique opportunity to make the big, Green New Deal -style investments we need for our communities and planet. Corporate fossil fuel lobbyists are working hard to water things down. We need to let our representatives know we're watching and expect them to stick to the campaign promises they all made.
The Green New Deal for Public Schools Act is a bill that would ensure that $1.4 trillion gets invested in schools in the upcoming infrastructure bill.
Sign the Green New Deal for Public Schools petition and we will deliver those signatures to Colorado representatives this coming week. The budget reconciliation vote is expected to happen September 15th, so please sign as soon as you can!

Comment on Xcel's Energy Plan
Xcel Energy submitted an energy plan to the Colorado government. The Public Utilities Commission then decides what parts of the plan are accepted and what is revised.
Unsurprisingly, Xcel's plan burns coal longer than the 2025 deadline we need for a quick and just transition.
The PUC takes into account public comments when deciding what plan to insist on.
Leave a comment on Xcel's Energy Plan to help make a just transition a reality in the state.
