John —

The California gubernatorial recall election ends in less than two days. So what you do right now is critical — because as the recall comes to a close, Democrats are the ones who will set the political precedent for the future of our state.

This recall was originally launched by Republicans as a way to drain California Democrat’s resources. But over the last few months, the polls have gotten too close for comfort. The recall is set up in two parts — the first asks if you would like to recall Gov. Newsom, and if the answer is ‘yes,’ a voter then selects their top pick to replace him.

But John, here’s where it gets dangerous: If Gov. Newsom is recalled, his replacement is the next candidate who receives the most votes. And based on current polling — if the recall is successful, California could see a Republican governor who doesn’t believe in the gender pay gap, gun safety, or climate change.

So right now, we need Democrats to step up. It’s critical if we want to keep Democratic control of our state that every voter turns out and votes NO in the recall election.

So, John, I’m asking: Will you make a plan to vote today? [[link removed]]

It’s time to put this distraction to rest so that we can return our full focus to fighting COVID-19 and organizing around the issues that affect hard-working Californians. I urge you and your family to make sure you are registered to vote and to return your completed ballots as soon as possible.

Thanks for being a voter!
