Nearly half of students who start higher education don’t finish.

That’s not okay, folks.

We put so much time and energy into sending students to college. Now we need to focus on what’s equally important — making sure they get through it.

That’s where my College Completion Fund Act comes in. This legislation would establish a first-of-its-kind fund that would give colleges and universities the resources to support evidence-based practices around student retention, completion, and success. It would make sure students have the resources to pursue and achieve a quality higher education.

This is about more than hanging a degree on a wall. Finishing college is a huge part of unlocking long-term career success and earning more.

So I’m asking, folks: Will you sign on as a citizen co-sponsor of my College Completion Fund Act? It would be a huge step toward ensuring more students graduate and unlock long-term career success.

The College Completion Fund Act would make sure under-resourced schools and all students get the support they need.

Colleges and universities will receive resources to address barriers to student success. That includes academic support services like career coaching and peer counseling, and direct student support through mental health services, child care, transportation, emergency financial assistance, and food and housing.

This legislation could help transform lives and set students on a successful career path. That’s why I’m asking you to sign on as a citizen co-sponsor to show your support:

We fall short of supporting students’ long-term career success if we help them get into college, but don’t actively work to help them cross the finish line. Thanks for speaking up.
