Over the past year, activists like you have been speaking up and taking action around the country to send an unmistakable message: the future of our democracy depends on passing the For the People Act.
And because of the movement we’ve built together, Senate Majority Leader Schumer has ensured that voting rights will be the pending business when the Senate returns from recess. And with the Senate returning to DC tomorrow, it’s critical that we demonstrate the nationwide momentum and urgency for the Senate to finish the job by passing the For the People Act.
That’s why on September 17th, communities across the country are participating in a “Finish the Job” Nationwide Day of Action to remind the Senate of their obligation to protect our freedom to vote and save our democracy.
The stakes could not be higher. Far-right lawmakers have introduced over 400 anti-voter bills across the country this year alone, and now these same lawmakers are preparing to draw congressional maps that will gerrymander districts and disenfranchise voters for the next decade.
By showing nationwide momentum and being visible in our communities, we can ensure that the For the People Act remains a top and urgent priority for senators as they return to DC.
