Keep up pressure on impeachment, prescription drugs, and hubdialer! folks.
There've been a lot of moving pieces (and crimes!) recently, but we can feel this energy culminating into something big. Just last week, you stepped up and made over 157,000 calls to Congress and to constituents in key states about impeachment (yay Hubdialer!). The message here is loud and clear: it's time for Congress to pick a side -- truth or Trump?
Over the next few weeks, we've gotta keep showing up and demanding our elected officials represent the majority of voters who support impeachment. That means continuing to call our members of Congress who haven't come out of the right side of this fight yet. It means pushing our senators to commit publicly to a fair and open trial (you may also want to ask them this one simple question). It means calling constituents in places like Arizona, and Colorado, and Maine when you're done with your calls to really amp up the pressure for key Senate Republicans. It means showing up for recess in November. In short: there's a LOT of work left to do.
We’ve got a big announcement coming later in the week about our plans to drive impeachment home, but in the meantime, we need everyone to continue planning ImpeachNow recess events (recess for the House begins November 3 and runs through Veterans Day on November 11, which means your members of Congress will be home on your turf and ready to hear from you). Now’s our chance to show up at every district office, at every Veterans Day Parade (where we know every senator will be marching) and make impeachment an issue for them no matter what they’re doing.
Perhaps, we should all RSVP to GOP-FL Rep Francis Rooney’s retirement party?!
Ok. In non-criminal administration news, be sure to tune into a special Facebook Live with Leah and Ezra as they take questions and talk about our new book - We are Indivisible: A Blueprint for Democracy After Trump is really just a love letter to the movement and a collection of all of our stories. And if you haven’t pre-ordered yet, then go ahead and do that right here.
And now for your weekly to-dos:
Your 5 weekly to-dos
- Sign up to make some calls connecting voters to Senators to demand a complete and fair impeachment trial. We've identified 13 Senators who our political and policy experts believe we can sway -- and now we're asking you to call voters in their states and ask those voters to turn up the pressure on their elected officials. It’s a simple four-part process:
- You sign up for a shift for Hubdialer and use our super-easy-to-use-platform to call a voter in one of our target states. These folks are your friends -- they fight for progressive causes.
- You explain they have power now and what's at stake in the impeachment fight. And you explain why it's so important that they talk to their senator.
- You ask them to use their power by calling their members of Congress. You can tell them a little about why calls matter.
- When they agree, you hit a button and patch them through to their senator's office. Then, you make more calls to more voters -- and these Senate Republicans really get an earful.
- Tell your member of Congress to support improvements to the Democrats’ prescription drug price bill. H.R.3 is headed to the Ways and Means committee this week, and probably to a floor vote not to long after that. We’re running out of time to make this bill better. There’s so much more we can do to benefit the average American family and the daily battles with prescription coverage. We need Congress to put a face to this fight. And maybe that face is yours. So be sure to tell your Member of Congress just how important expanding H.R.3 is to you and your family.
- Join us on a special Facebook Live on tomorrow, October 21 at 8pm with Leah and Ezra. We’ll be talking shop about what went into the upcoming book, We Are Indivisible: A Blueprint for Democracy After Trump, and answering all your questions!

We Are Indivisible: A Blueprint for Democracy After Trump
Every week we’re sharing key excerpts from the book with our movement. We ended last week with Christine Hanna creating a Facebook group for Tampa-area women the day after the election. By evening, she had a thousand members of what would eventually become Indivisible Action Tampa Bay...
The overwhelming feeling was one of fear. Fear of what the election of Donald Trump meant for the policy gains of the Obama administration. Fear of what this election meant for the people Trump had openly promised to harm: Muslims, Dreamers and other immigrants, refugees, and more. Fear of what this meant for the Supreme Court.
Fear, fundamentally, of what this meant for democracy itself.
We were right to be afraid, then and now. Trump is a uniquely grotesque human in a position of immense power, an aggressively ignorant buffoon whose authoritarian instincts and malice are only outweighed (when we’re lucky) by his incompetence.
But while Trump’s election was a shock to our democratic system, the system had already been weakened long before he arrived on the scene. That’s why this chapter, this book—this whole Indivisible movement—is not about Donald Trump. It’s about what allowed him to take power. It’s about what came before Trump and what will remain after he is defeated or imprisoned or both.
To Be Continued…

Support the Movement
We’ve got a secret weapon to impeach President Trump: a tool that turns the energy of thousands of activists nationwide into specific, targeted calls to persuadable senators. It’s called HubDialer, and in the last two weeks, Indivisibles have used it to make more than 153,000 calls to help constituents target senators like John Cornyn, Thom Tillis, and Martha McSally.
HubDialer is a great way for Indivisibles who have already called their own senators to multiply their impact. But our work isn’t over -- we have a goal of making 1.1 MILLION calls, because we know that’s what it’s going to take to get our senators to listen. We’re committed to keeping HubDialer on for as long as it takes to make our voices heard -- but it’s not cheap.
We’re spending $145,000 to pay for 24,000 hours of activist calling. We rely on individual donors to make work like this possible -- can you pitch in $10 today to fund HubDialer and support all our work?

Before we go, we just wanna emphasize how much everything you’re doing matters to this fight we’re in: for impeachment, for making prescription drugs affordable, for democracy reform. Every sign, every banner, every protest, every roadside honk-a-thons; it all makes a difference. So keep at it -- we’re almost over the hill.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
