Reflecting on the shared sense of common purpose that affected every American 20 years ago | Email not displaying correctly? View it in your browser [link removed].

New Politics family,

After our nation was attacked, millions of us answered the call to serve. The post-9/11 generation isn’t just the veteran who volunteered knowing we were a nation at war, it’s every servant leader who in the last two decades asked themselves, “if not me, then who?”

Today, as we remember the tragedy that struck, we’re reflecting on the shared sense of common purpose that affected every American in the days that followed. Let’s renew the call to action that so many answered — not to go overseas again, but to empower servant leaders to run for office and together, revitalize our democracy.

Listen to a special 9/11 episode of the New Politics Podcast: [link removed] Max Klau talked with Doug Mills, the photojournalist whose photo captured the moment when President Bush learned “America is under attack,” and he interviewed several veterans of our post-9/11 conflicts who have since run for office, including Rep. Seth Moulton, Rep. Mike Gallagher, and Amy McGrath.
