Honoring The Fallen 20 Years Later
<>
Friend,
<>
Today is the twentieth anniversary of the heinous attack on America.
On this day in 2001, a culmination of hatred and planning was unleashed on
American soil. Coordinated attacks brought destruction and horror to our
country, in a display unlike anything the world had ever seen.
Today we remember the lives lost on those four flights, in the Twin Towers,
The Pentagon and surrounding areas on that fateful day. We remember the heroism
of the passengers on the United 93 flight, who took action to prevent further
harm. We remember the bravery of first responders and civilians who tried to
rescue and piece together insurmountable brokenness.
In the wake of heartbreak and disaster, we had to create a unified front
against our enemies. We had to rebuild, start over and heal. Men and women
across the country accepted the call to serve after that day, and we honor and
remember those who served in the War on Terror.
Twenty years later, our country still aches over the events of that day. If
you ask any adult, they can tell you exactly where they were on that day. It
changed the way we lived our lives.
May we never forget what happened that day. I hope that you take time to pause
and reflect on those who gave the ultimate sacrifice on this day twenty years
ago and every day since. They are heroes and they embody what makes this
country so great.
We are the land of the free, because of the brave.
God Bless you, your family, and America,
Ted Budd
