Friends, 20 years ago today, America lost nearly 3,000 innocent lives in one of the darkest and most horrific moments in our country’s history.

To those who lost loved ones, we mourn with you, and hope to help shoulder some of the feelings of pain and devastation that may never fully heal.

While we remember those we lost, we also honor the memory of the heroes whose sacrifices still epitomize what it means to truly live a life in service to others. They are the best of us, and they represent what we can only hope to become ourselves. 

20 years later, our gratitude for their sacrifice has only grown stronger, sewn into the very fabric of our history.

Today, we stand united in our shared remembrance of that terrible day 20 years ago, shoulder-to-shoulder, mourning those we lost, and honoring our heroes who gave everything they had to protect their neighbors.
