A MESSAGE OF PEACE ON 9/11
September 11th, 2001 brought on a day in our history that has impacted lives both here in the United States and abroad. Our deepest condolences go out to the families who have lost loved ones and continue to feel the void in their lives. Nothing can ever compensate for the loss of life and injury in one's life.
While 9/11 prompted divisions and divisive policies amongst ordinary citizens, there were those leaders and individuals who were dedicated towards the peace and healing of our communities at the outset of this tragic event.
Tonight, we bring together those incredible faith leaders, policymakers, and community activists who rallied our communities towards deeper understanding of each other and fought against divisions. Only with fostering deeper understanding of each other and focusing on our shared humanity, can we advocate for peace and create the social conditions that will never allow for another 9/11 to ever happen again.
I hope you can join us for our Children of Abraham Peace Vigil tonight at 8:30 PM, hosted by MCN's Board Chair, Dr. Debbie Almontaser, Rabbi Ellen Lippmann, and Rev. Tom Martinez. Register here.
With Gratitude,
Aniqa Nawabi
