Today is the 20th anniversary of the worst attacks on U.S. soil, September 11th. It was one of the darkest days in American history.

We remember how our country comes together after such terrible events. We saw great acts of patriotism then, and we continue to see them today.

So while today certainly is a day of mourning, it is also a reminder of what it means to be an American. As a nation, we are stronger when we stand together.

Standing together as Americans to move our nation forward is a powerful way to honor the lives of all those lost 20 years ago today.
