A lot has happened over the last few weeks, and I wanted to make sure that you’re up to date.
Earlier this month, both the Republican National Committee (RNC) and National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) launched attack ads against me. They announced a national $10 million blitz against Democrats – just one part of their overall strategy to retake the House in 2020.
In addition, Third Way came out with a report that listed VA07 as one of the eight most critical House races this election cycle:
“These are possibly the eight most important districts in the country...There is not enough money, volunteer time, and attention that can go into these districts.” -Third Way
When I ran my first race in 2018, we built a strong grassroots campaign. We took on an incumbent who many people thought we couldn’t beat. Then, we proved the pundits wrong and we won, and I became the first Democrat to hold this seat since 1968 (and the first woman ever!).
Our 2020 re-election is going to be difficult. National Republican groups are already spending money, five candidates have already lined up to challenge me, but I am staying focused. I’m working hard each day to represent the people of Central Virginia and to build a winning re-election campaign. Please consider making a contribution to our efforts today.
