Just last week, we learned that Iowa Senator Joni Ernst, who’s up for reelection next year, is one of the 10 most unpopular Senatorsin the entire country.
Only 39% of Iowans approve of the job she’s doing, which has been shoddy at best—her campaign promises to fight tough for Iowa have fallen flat. She’s also aligned herself too much with this disgraceful administration; for instance, she refused to condemn the president’s solicitation of foreign interference in our elections. She then refused to answer questions about whether she thinks it’s OK for a president to do what Trump’s accused of doing.
It’s bad enough that she’s taken hundreds of thousands in corporate PAC and corporate lobbyist money this cycle alone. That includes contributions from the real estate, energy, and financial industries that pay to have officials like Ernst in their pockets, voting for their interests instead of fighting for the people.
Folks, what more proof do we need that it’s time for Ernst to be ousted?
I’m running for Senate to send corrupt politicians like Ernst packing. Unlike her, I don’t take any corporate PAC or corporate lobbyist money; I know that to be a true representative of the people, I can’t be beholden to anyone but the people. What’s more, flipping Iowa is key to flipping the Senate in 2020. We need bold action to make that happen, and that’s what our campaign represents.
