John,

20 years ago today, unimaginable horror was inflicted upon our nation at the hands of radical Islamic extremists.

They wanted to tear down our great nation.

Instead, they united the American people as we had not been in a very long time.

It’s a day of infamy that will remain forever etched in our hearts. We must NEVER forget.

As we observe Patriot Day 2021, we commemorate the lives of the 2,977 precious souls lost on 9/11. We recognize the incredible challenges faced by the more than 6,000 people who were injured, many of whom are still struggling with their recoveries to this day.

And we pray for solace for the loved ones left behind.

It’s also important that we take a special moment to acknowledge the heroes of 9/11. They include the 412 first responders we lost in New York City, who rushed toward rapidly unfolding disaster to save countless lives, and the passengers on Flight 93 who took action to prevent even greater tragedy.

Today, let us renew our commitment to ensure such an attack can never happen again.

We must always remain vigilant, and stand UNITED as Americans, to ensure our country remains a beacon of strength and hope around the world.
