Friends,
Today marks the 20th anniversary of September 11th, 2001, a day that changed our country forever.  Despite the attacks we've faced over the years -- both internationally and domestically -- our ability to remain a great nation is reliant upon Americans remaining united and strong together.
Every time I look at the flag flying over our nation's capitol, I am reminded of all the sacrifices so many Americans have made for our country and what our democracy has endured over the years. We have a solemn responsibility to those who have come before us to live up to these ideals.
This last week I visited the 9/11 Memorial in New York City. Even after 20 years, the enormity of this attack and feelings of grief are still there.
Today, we remember those 2,977 people who died that day and the over 6,000 injured. We remember the stories of first responders running into burning buildings, while civilians ran away from crumbling buildings. May their Sacrifice give us strength and resolve to unite our great nation.
These memories have shaped who we are today. From this tragedy, we have learned many lessons.
Please join me and take a moment today to remember and honor the sacrifice of those who were killed on September 11th, 2001.
It remains a privilege to represent you as your Congressman.
