On this day 20 years ago, our freedom and way of life was assaulted by terrorists in a series of deliberate, deadly attacks that took the lives of thousands of Americans.
We will never forget these friends, neighbors, parents and children whose lives were ended too soon.
Many of us watched these attacks in anger and disbelief. But we didn’t let the terrorists win.
Our nation looked evil in the eyes and responded with resilience, hope and generosity toward fellow Americans who stepped up to help each other in the days, weeks and months that followed. And thanks to our military, we were able to take out Osama Bin Laden.
However, as we’ve seen unfold in recent weeks in Afghanistan, the fight against terrorism is not over. Our nation is the greatest bastion of freedom on this Earth, and that is worth fighting for.
Please join me today in remembering those whose lives were lost on 9/11, and honoring the brave service men and women who have spent the last two decades protecting our homeland from a similar attack.
God bless,
Rick Allen
