Indivisibles,
Huge news: the progressive voting bloc just scored a major victory in the
recovery package by expanding childcare benefits to millions of families.
Indivisibles have been working towards this moment for months, building
pressure so that when it comes down to the wire, progressive members of
Congress know that we’ve got their backs. And it worked! Progressives went
bold, and thanks to them, the bill ensures that no one will pay more than
7% of their income on childcare -- a critical part of building a just and
equitable care economy.
The progressive voting bloc is this strong because of the work Indivisible
has done to back them up, from ads, to calls to events. And none of that
work is free. If you want to keep supporting this work, [ [link removed] ]click here to

This win is proof that our surgical advocacy four-point plan is working:
* We’re pressuring every member of Congress to get on board (that means
ads, calls, in-person events, and more)
* We’re holding conservative Democrats accountable for bad policies
(more calls, and very targeted ads)
* We’re supporting progressive House Democrats to be bold (that’s how we
got this win!)
* We’re reaching out to key committee members (for example, holding a
training this week)
So what comes next?
We have an opportunity to continue making an impact -- but we can only win
if we throw real weight behind our principles. Luckily, this movement
already knows what it takes to win big on important issues. And it’s going
to take all our tried-and-true tactics to deliver a truly transformational
recovery package.
This has to be done by September 27th, so here’s what we’re doing this
month:
* Driving constituent phone calls to congressional offices is always one
of our key tactics, and it’s no different this time.
* Updating our web resources to ensure that Indivisibles have access to
the latest news, policy guidance, and calls to action.
* Digital and print ads are a staple in our toolkit -- especially in key
districts where we really need an elected official to hear the will of
the people.
* Sending targeted text messages to activists makes it simple and
convenient to call a congressional office, attend an upcoming event,
and more.
How can you help?
All those tactics we mentioned above? It’s simply the truth that every one
of them costs us money -- from the fees we pay for web hosting and texting
tools to the price of ads to all the work that goes into making all these
resources available and publicizing them widely.
Right now, as we’re finalizing our plans, the best way you can help us get
a move on before the September 27 showdown is by [ [link removed] ]donating $10 to fund
all the tools, tactics, and actions it’s going to take to win massive
change for the people. Grassroots funding is crucial to our success, and
that means we rely on people like you to make all our work possible -- and
the earlier you can give, the more resources we’ll have to work with in
advance of the deadline.
All of these fights are tied together: the investments in people that
we’re demanding will make it easier, safer, and more accessible for
everyone to participate in our democracy. Whether we’re talking about
universal preschool and affordable childcare, investments in climate or
affordable housing, or a pathway to citizenship for immigrants -- these
priorities are only possible if we put in the work together.
In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
