Thank you for your support!

We couldn't wait to share this wonderful news with you all! Maricela will be a wonderful addition to our GCFK program

Now we will have two amazing lawyers; Fabiola and Maricela helping the children in our program reach the important milestones to get their Green Cards. All the hard work has helped kids like Roberta and Diana, who had their Special Immigrant Juvenile Status applications submitted and approved through our GCFK program. This gets them one step closer to their permanent residency!

This program provides legal representation to migrant children seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). These children are currently in custody of Riverside County.

Our supported shelter, Templo Embajadores de Jesus, is now filled beyond capacity. The population in this shelter has surpassed 1000, half of them being children and minors, with about 100 migrants arriving daily. The people arriving to this shelter are a direct result of Title 42, and the Mexican government is complicit in dropping families off at this shelter, yet offering no support.
We ask that you please consider donating to our Shelter Aid program through the link on this post. Your donations will go towards helping feed, clothe, and support our migrant siblings.

Thank you all for your continued support, the migrants at the encampment depend on these efforts to feed their families. Ejercito de Salvación was able to provide 365 plates of lentils
300 donuts, 300 cups of coffee, and 200 cups of hot cocoa to be exact!
With the reinstatement of MPP, aid like this becomes imperative to provide some comfort to our migrant siblings.

On our recent drops we saw many signs of travel, including shoe covers, used socks that were changed out when the socks we left were discovered, and consumed water gallons and food cans. On our out-and-back route, there was even water consumption of a gallon jug at a supply site, between the first time we passed it that morning and the time we returned, a few hours later.

Even with the heat well above 100 degrees for hours, our group was able to get far enough into the canyons to a drop site that usually we can only get to when the weather is cooler. We learned around the same time as we were out on our route that another aid organization found a migrant that was deceased in the desert not too far away. We are working with members of that org and have the location and will mobilize soon to survey the area and try to find paths nearby where we can leave supplies, in an effort to prevent further death.

We will be out again tomorrow with a couple groups to continue our weekly trips to leave life-saving supplies to those crossing through the mountains and desert. Our mission is simple: to help prevent suffering and death in the mountains and desert along the U.S./Mexico border.

Until further notice, we are still not taking any new volunteers. Click here to donate ([link removed]) 💧

Meet Abbud and Cristian!
38-year-old Abbud is the first asylum seeker we have supported from Yemen. Abbud spent 8 months inside the Imperial Regional Detention Center. Cristian is a 20-year old asylum seeker from Romania. He spent 4 months inside the Otay Mesa Detention Center.

It breaks our heart to see such young men subject to unjust migration policies, but we are hopeful they are at the start of a long and prosperous new life! We want to invite you to become the hope for our migrant siblings!

These two gentlemen are the 93rd & 94th bonds we have posted!

This year, we want to free 100 people from immigration detention, and we need YOUR help.

We are so close to our goal and our funds are running low. When you donate to our Familias Reunidas Immigration Bond Fund you are helping a mother hug her son, a husband hug his spouse, friends be together again, and so much more! Your donations save lives!

May of last year, we learned of the first death inside the Otay Mesa Detention Center, Carlos Ernesto Escobar Mejia was the first to perish due to the neglect of this for-profit facility. Here we are, over a year later, and our concerns over the health of our detained migrant siblings, facing an even greater risk of COVID.
This concern is not only over OMDC but a pattern that can be seen across detention centers nationwide. These folks should not be subject to life-threatening conditions simply for seeking a place in this country, all the while their trauma being profited from.

** 74 Advocacy Groups Pen Letter to Mexican Prez. Asking Him to Refuse Migrants Returned Under MPP
------------------------------------------------------------

"Just over six dozen U.S. and international open-border advocates recently penned a letter to the President of Mexico asking him to refuse to accept migrants now being returned to Mexico after the Supreme Court declined to halt a lower court's decision which mandated the reinstatement of "Remain in Mexico."

President Biden and DHS Secretary Mayorkas ([link removed]) suspended the Migrant Protection Protocols shortly after the inauguration in January, but it was not until June that the program was officially ended."
