Biden vs. Babies: President Sues Texas Heartbeat Law

Yesterday, the Biden Administration’s U.S. Department of Justice filed a lawsuit in federal court against the state of Texas claiming that the Texas Heartbeat Law (S.B. 8) is invalid under the Supremacy Clause and the Fourteenth Amendment, is preempted by federal law, and violates the doctrine of intergovernmental immunity.

Jonathan Saenz, President, and Attorney of Texas Values released the following statement:

“If the Biden Administration wants to come into Texas and force us to kill our children, we say ‘Come and Take It.” We will fight the D.C. establishment every step of the way.  The Biden Administration is weaponizing the Department of Justice to file a fake political lawsuit with no legal basis.  The Heartbeat Law still stands–it is illegal even now to commit abortions on preborn Texans with a detectable heartbeat.”

The SBOE periodically writes TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge Skills) standards to set the basic requirements for what teachers must teach in the classroom and what students should know at each grade level.
