Friend, the Department of Justice took a major step yesterday to defend women's reproductive rights.
They have sued Texas because of the state's new law that bans abortions after six weeks -- a law that blatantly violates Roe v. Wade.
We're glad to see this decisive action. But the reality is that after Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell stacked the courts with right-wing judges for four years, we face an uphill fight in defeating these anti-choice bills. So we have to do more.
Congress must use its authority to protect women's fundamental rights -- and it's going to be voting very soon on legislation to codify Roe v. Wade.
Jennifer has long believed that the right to choose should be protected under federal law. She proudly stands behind the effort to make Roe v. Wade the law of the land -- and she'll keep urging that we do whatever it takes (including ending the Senate filibuster) to get it done.
Now is a time for all of us to raise our voices in support of women's right to choose. Please join Jennifer and add your name to protect Roe v. Wade.
Thank you,
Team Wexton
