John, I have a fun update for you and your furry family members.

A few months ago I told you about a bill I co-sponsored (the PAWS Act) to help our veterans get more access to service dogs. Well, I’m happy to share President Joe Biden signed it into law!

We know that service dogs are a proven method to easing stress and PTSD when our service members come home. This bill has been years in the making and creates a pilot program for veterans to train service dogs and ultimately adopt them as their own. Once adopted, the pups help veterans with anything they need, such as shielding them from overwhelming crowds or waking them up if they’re having nightmares. Such a great program right?

You all know how much Pam and I love dogs - we constantly have a rotating crew of foster pups. So to be able to make sure our veterans have the support they need, and help give homes to great dogs, is a win-win.

My work on this bill would not have been possible without the support of grassroots supporters like you. Will you chip in to my campaign today so I can keep working to pass legislation that helps every single person (and pup!) in my district?
