** Calling on Congress to Invest in Public Transit & High-Speed Rail
------------------------------------------------------------
ELPC joined a coalition of 45+ groups calling on Congress to invest in clean transportation solutions. The coalition of labor unions, environmental organizations, and other nationwide groups called for more investment in public transit and high-speed rail in the Reconciliation Bill. Transportation is the leading source of carbon emissions, primarily from personal cars and trucks. Public transit and passenger rail are critical to reducing pollution, improving affordable mobility, and enhancing public safety. Congress must take the climate crisis seriously, support workers, and invest in the public good.

** New Partners Help Monitor Air Quality in Chicago ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------

ELPC is partnering with Microsoft Research’s Urban Innovation team, the Array of Things, City Tech Collaborative, JCDecaux, and the City of Chicago to deploy a network of stationary air quality sensors on 100 bus shelters throughout Chicago. In addition to our mobile monitoring program, the data from this effort, Project Eclipse, will help illustrate citywide air quality and particulate matter patterns over time, making it possible to compare pollution conditions by neighborhood and find opportunities for advocacy.
