Breaking news, John: The Biden Administration’s Justice Department is suing to block Texas’s unconstitutional law stripping away most access to safe, legal abortion.

But Texas is far from the only place where Republicans are pushing bills to restrict our right to have power over our own bodies. Right here in Pennsylvania, even before Texas passed its ban, Republicans legislators pushed a bill that, like Texas, would ban most abortions before many people even know they’re pregnant.

Texas’ anti-abortion law sets an incredibly dangerous precedent. This outrageous law allows any citizen to sue an abortion care provider — or even someone who helps a loved one get an abortion. The result: anyone who lives in Texas could be sued simply for driving a friend to an abortion clinic.

We can’t afford to let this kind of draconian law flood Republican legislatures across the country and further undermine Roe v. Wade. We need a strong leader from Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate to defend reproductive justice for all.

Val is that leader. Val has sat at the side of people making some of the most difficult choices of their lives — she knows firsthand what is at stake. As a physician who specialized in women’s health, she’d be the strongest possible voice for codifying Roe v. Wade into law, defending the doctor-patient relationship, and ensuring women have affordable access to the full-range of reproductive health care options.

But she can’t do that if Republicans take back the Senate majority, giving them free rein to pass federal anti-abortion laws. So please, chip in any amount you can to send Val to the U.S. Senate and protect reproductive justice.
