Ashley Hinson (IA-01) reminded Iowans of the lifesaving effects of the COVID-19 vaccine. Tuesday, Rep. Stephanie Bice (OK-05) noted additional failures made by the Biden Administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan. Now, thousands of Americans remain trapped under Taliban rule. Read more here. Wednesday, Sen. Joni Ernst (IA) continued to apply pressure on the Administration to retrieve more Americans. While the Taliban remain in full control, American foreign policy appears in serious danger as China strengthens ties with terrorists. Senator Ernst continues to lead on these efforts. President Biden on Thursday will sign an executive order requiring most federal employees to get the COVID vaccine, without the option of getting regular testing instead, according to a source familiar with the plans.
New York Times: Skilled Workers Are Scarce, Posing a Challenge for Biden’s Infrastructure Plan. The infrastructure bill that President Biden hopes to get through Congress is supposed to create jobs and spur projects for companies like Anchor Construction, which specializes in repairing aging bridges and roadways in the nation’s capital.
The Hill: House panel launches work on $3.5T spending package. The House Ways and Means Committee on Thursday kicks off a multiday markup of key elements of Democrats' $3.5 trillion social spending package.
Fox News: Biden broke campaign promise to not tax anyone making less than $400,000: Rep. French Hill Rep. French Hill, R-Ark., while discussing the Democrats' massive spending plan, argued that President Biden already broke his campaign promise to not raise taxes on anyone making less than $400,000.
Radio Iowa: Iowa U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson targets Democratic ‘spending spigot’ during Cedar Rapids town hall. Rep. Ashley Hinson’s priorities in her first eight months representing Iowa’s 1st District have been “standing up for taxpayers, standing up for rural America and standing up for safety and security,” she said Wednesday.
