This headline from The Washington Post says all too much about our democracy and my fight for working people.
They’re at it again. The wealthiest and most powerful corporations in the country are working overtime to stop action on climate change, tax fairness, and long-overdue investments in health care, paid leave, child care, universal pre-K and more. I’m fighting back but we’re up against a LOT.

It’s obvious why Big Pharma, Wall Street, and Big Tech don’t want our progressive priorities to pass. Our agenda passing means they’ll have to pay their fair share in taxes and have less profits to dole out to their ultra-rich CEOs.
This lobbying effort is yet another attempt by corporate America to stop economic and social benefits from reaching working people. Corporations are even spreading misinformation about the $3.5 trillion spending bill in order to stop it.
Our democracy is already under threat because of serious voting restrictions in states across the country and nonstop GOP election lies. But now, corporations are shelling out millions to spread more lies and try to stop our fight for health care, the environment, child care, and education. We need to stand up and serve the interests of the people — not a few CEOs and billionaires.
