Democratic governors across the country have been on the frontlines of fighting the pandemic. They have listened to the science, put health and safety first and worked to get relief to the millions of Americans who lost their jobs.
That’s the kind of leadership Gavin Newsom has brought to California. In addition to leading the recovery from COVID-19, he’s also taken bold action to combat climate change, protect reproductive freedom, enact criminal justice reform and more.
But now, Republicans are trying to roll back the progress California has made by launching a recall campaign against Governor Newsom. If they succeed, all of the gains Democrats have made will be on the chopping block.
