The Texas abortion ban is something that feels like it's out of the Handmaid’s Tale, in fiction but not reality in the United States. Texas Republicans are making bizarre nightmarish novel plots a reality for the millions of women in Texas.

Women have the Constitutional right to make decisions about their own body, regardless of race, zip code, socio-economic status or disability.

And we know that when you ban abortion within a state, it primarily affects POC and low-income women who can’t afford to move or travel outside state lines. Forcing these women to carry a pregnancy to term or allowing vigilantes from anywhere in the country to sue women who get an abortion is unthinkable and wrong, but that’s exactly what is happening in the state of Texas today. And it should concern every single American, from Texas to the Virgin Islands.
