John,
Medicare provides healthcare to millions of seniors and disabled
Americans.
But despite its decades of success, it has been under constant attack from
special interests groups that are eager to toss this life-saving program
on the chopping block.
Even now, as Congress negotiates its $3.5 trillion package, which can pass
without Republican votes, these groups are trying to stop the biggest
improvements to Medicare since it first became law over 50 years ago.
Just take a look at a few of the improvements they don’t want us to make
to Medicare:
* Adding dental, hearing, and vision care
* Creating an out-of-pocket cap on expenses so that health care costs
don’t bankrupt seniors
* Lowering Medicare’s eligibility age
* Giving Medicare the power to negotiate prices with pharmaceutical
corporations, lowering costs for everyone in the process
With lobbyists and dark money groups trying to stop us from expanding
Medicare, we must fight back.

Representative Pramila Jayapal to protect and expand healthcare coverage
for all Americans.
Expanding and improving Medicare will go a long way in helping millions of
older Americans receive the health care they need.
From reducing health care costs and prescription drug prices to helping
the 70 percent of senior citizens that do not have dental insurance, we
can make the most significant expansion of Medicare since it was signed
into law a reality if we are willing to fight for it.
