Friend --
My pledge to you is simple.
As your Governor, I will work hard, tell you the truth, and keep my
promises.
And one more thing:? I WILL NOT ENABLE BAD BEHAVIOR by the Illinois
General Assembly.
Once again, the Illinois House passed sweeping legislation late
last night after a day of backroom, closed-door dealing.? Even though
this legislation drives up energy costs, there was no public hearing
on the final version of the bill.? Most of the representatives
probably had no idea what provisions the legislation actually
contained.
This is precisely the type of legislation spawned by a corrupt
process that I will VETO.? The truth is not afraid of transparency and
I will veto ALL legislation that is not passed in a transparent
manner.
That's one of the many ways that things will change when I am your
Governor.
On a different subject, I apologize to all of you that tried to
donate online and were unable to do so on Wednesday night.? We had a
such a high volume of donations coming in that some of the safeguards
from our website kicked in.
Our tech team tells me that the problem is now fixed.? If you were
unable to donate on Wednesday night, please consider doing so now.?
Just make sure you fill in all the fields on the donation form--don't
leave anything blank.
Our donor match is still ongoing.? Some generous supporters have
agreed to match whatever amount you donate to our campaign between now
and September 18th.? $25 from you means $50 for the campaign!
You can donate here.
If you prefer to mail a check, make it out to "Citizens for
Schimpf" and send to PO Box 16, Waterloo, Illinois 62298.
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
S/F,
Paul
