I am your constituent, and I unequivocally reject the notion that money for one health care priority takes away from another. Please support the full Build Back Better Act and expand Medicare to include dental, hearing and vision as quickly as possible and with no out-of-pocket costs, expand home and community-based services, and lower prescription drug prices. Thank you.
Corporate lobbyists want to pit our priorities against each other. They say that we can have paid family leave or demolish disabled poverty. That Medicare can cover dental, hearing and vision or we can have home and community-based care.
We need to send an unequivocal message: We reject this false choice. We are the wealthiest country in history, and we refuse to leave anyone behind.
The $3.5 trillion budget resolution that Congress already passed has room for all of these priorities. But corporate-funded members of Congress are arbitrarily cutting that number for no discernable reason. We voted for President Joe Biden, not President Joe Manchin.
