More Republican-controlled states are tryingto put cruel anti-abortion laws on the books. We’re working to stop them. Learn more:
Friend,
Just one week after the Supreme Court’s devastating ruling on the Texas abortion ban, Republican legislators in other states are jumping into action:
In Florida, Pro-Trump Governor Ron DeSantis announced that he is “going to look significantly more” into passing an anti-abortion bill very similar to the one that just passed in Texas. And with the backing of his state's Republican AG, Ashley Moody, he could well succeed.
Friend, the Florida Attorney General race will be one of the most critical races of the 2022 midterms, and the AG's office could be the state’s last firewall for reproductive rights. AG Moody has argued for restricting abortion access and fought to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
Winning in Florida could be key to stopping Republicans' momentum when it comes to rolling back reproductive rights, so we have to flip this seat.
Across the country, Republican governors and AGs are actively looking to recreate Texas’ devastating abortion ban:
In South Dakota, GOP Governor Kristi Noem just signed executive orders that limit reproductive rights.
In Indiana, Republican AG Todd Rokita expressed support for Texas’ abortion ban.
And in Kentucky, Republican AG Daniel Cameron is already looking for ways to make abortion laws more restrictive.
That’s why Democratic AGs are fighting back, in and out of the courtroom. But we need to elect MORE Dem AGs to help protect our rights.
The Democratic Attorneys General Association was the first political committee to only back pro-choice candidates, and that pledge has never been more important.
We need strong, pro-choice, pro-reproductive rights AGs in office to fight back against unconstitutional laws in states like Georgia, Arizona, Florida, and more.
