Team-

There's a lot of work that goes into a U.S. Supreme Court case.

We're working around the clock to prepare for our day before the Court
challenging Mississippi's unconstitutional 15-week abortion ban. But
we're also working each and every day on all the other pieces required
for a case of this magnitude.

This is the third time in five years that the Center is
defending abortion rights before the Supreme Court, and the stakes
have never been higher. We're no stranger to this fight, but this time
around we want to share a behind-the-scenes look with one of our most
dedicated supporters-you.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be sharing what goes into preparing
for a case before the Supreme Court-and all that's at stake.

I hope you'll make a gift today to support the Center's critical work
in Mississippi and around the world.

It's only with your support and continued partnership that we're
able to continue fighting for reproductive rights for everyone,
everywhere.

Here's a quick view of what's already happened in our Mississippi case
before the Supreme Court:

* March 2018 - The Center and our partners filed a case
challenging Mississippi's blatantly unconstitutional ban
on abortion after just 15 weeks of pregnancy.

* June 15, 2020 - After the law was struck down in both a
federal district court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the
Fifth Circuit, the state of Mississippi asked the Supreme Court
to review the case.

* May 17, 2021 - The Supreme Court announced it would hear
Mississippi's appeal of the Fifth Circuit's decision
to strike down the law.

* July 22, 2021 - In its opening brief to the Supreme Court,
the state of Mississippi stunningly and explicitly asked the
Court to overturn Roe v. Wade.

* July 29, 2021 - Organizations seeking to end abortion
rights file amicus briefs in support of Mississippi's
efforts to overturn Roe.

And here's what's still to come in the case:

* September 13, 2021 - We'll file our opening brief asking
the Court to strike down the Mississippi law and defend the core
holding of Roe.

* September 20, 2021 - Allied organizations will file amicus
briefs in support of our arguments and constitutional
protections for abortion rights in the United States.

* October 13, 2021 - Mississippi will file its reply brief.

* To Be Announced - Our oral argument day before the Supreme
Court

We've been fighting this Mississippi ban for nearly three years, and
we've been preparing for a challenge to Roe v. Wade for decades. And
we are ready.
