The Child Protection Programme has developed a new free online course to support the youth work sector to help keep young people safe online. This e-learning introduces youth workers and volunteers to key topics in online safety, and addresses the challenges that young people may face online.

International Youth Work Online Learning Module

National Youth Council of Ireland and Léargas in collaboration with Maynooth University have developed  a new interactive online learning module on international youth work. The module is hosted on Youthworkandyou.org, a hub for curated resources for the youth work sector and students.

We are delighted to announce new STEAM training for Youthreach centres. This will help you to plan and deliver workshops and programmes that offer learners cross-curricular experiences that include Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths (STEAM).

Covid-19: guidance for youth services

We will continue to update you on our ongoing engagement with the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth regarding the Covid-19 Guidance for Youth Organisations on behalf of the youth work sector. We expect to have a further update to release in the coming days.

The national LGBTI+ young organisation, BeLonG To Youth Services, is hosting a free online training for Youth Workers on Wednesday, October 20th which will equip you with the tools and knowledge needed to feel confident hosting Stand Up Awareness Week in your service.

Drama Facilitation Training Course 2021/2022

The application process for the Youth Theatre Ireland Drama Facilitation Training Course 21/22 has now begun. The course will run from October 2021 – June 2022. Please complete the application form and return to [email protected] by 12 noon on September 8th.

VSI's 'Youth for Climate Justice' Project

From 26 – 30 July VSI's 'Youth for Climate Justice' Project brought together a small group of young people to learn about climate justice and how we can help to achieve it through individual and systematic change. The aim of the project was to empower young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to advocate for climate justice.

Wexford Youth Film Festival 2021

Wexford Youth Film Festival are delighted to announce that submissions for the 2021 festival are now being accepted.
The film festival is aimed at Primary and Secondary school aged pupils from around the Wexford area or with a connection or an interest in Wexford.

Ideas Collective 2021

The Ideas Collective is STAND’s social incubator program for third-level students and recent graduates, supporting young people to develop, refine and implement innovative ideas for social or environmental change. The event takes place on the 17th of September at 6:30 pm as part of Ireland's Culture Night.

Northern Ireland Youth Forum Survey

The NIYF are working on a major cross border piece of research targeting 11-25 year olds across the island of Ireland. The research aims to gather the views of young people on topics such as identity, culture, covid-19, the past and the future. Respondents have the chance to win a £50 voucher and can also sign up to be involved in a North South Youth Forum.

Centre for Cross Border Studies' 22nd Annual Conference

The overarching theme of this year’s conference is “Testing the health of conditions for post-Brexit cooperation: The evolving political and social contexts”, exploring how we can maintain and strengthen relations in the challenging context of Brexit.

Traveller Pride Week is a week to celebrate Travellers organised by Support Travellers Advance Through Universal Services (STATUS). The theme for this year’s Traveller Pride Week is  Stronger Together and will take place from Sept 27th – Oct 3rd.

Send your news, events, and activities for inclusion in the next edition of Clár na nÓg, the youth sector newsletter, to [email protected].

Format: keep submissions concise (three lines or shorter). Include a link to your website where readers can find out more.

The E-Bulletin goes out to over 5,000 subscribers with an interest in youth issues. It is a great opportunity both to let the sector know about the fantastic work your organisation does and to target youth workers and those interested in youth work issues directly.
