Progressives in Congress are working right now to pass a $3.5 trillion spending bill. Big Pharma and health insurance companies are working hard to stop one key part of the bill: Medicare expansion.

Here’s what progressives are fighting for right now:

• Adding dental, hearing, and vision coverage to Medicare - right now, Medicare does NOT cover dental, hearing, and vision care, astoundingly.
• Creating an out-of-pocket cap on expenses to Medicare so that health care costs don’t bankrupt seniors
• Lowering Medicare’s eligibility age to 60
• Giving Medicare the power to negotiate prices with pharmaceutical corporations, lowering prescription drug costs for everyone

Justice Democrats in Congress are continuing the fight for Medicare for All, but expanding Medicare is a critical step President Biden agreed to in his campaign and can take right now. The biggest health care policy from the Biden administration thus far has been providing massive subsidies to the private health insurance companies that profit from our deadly health care system. Democrats need to do more.
