Dear Clarion Project Subscriber,

I'm happy to report that, thanks to your support, our emergency rescue campaign has been very successful. We've been able to hire additional staff to continue our coordination with the people on the ground in Afghanistan involved in the rescue effort, and we've been able to assist in the escape of nearly 2,000 Americans and Afghan allies. We're still $10,000 short of what we need to create a secure platform for our rescue coordination efforts (and it's not too late to help us reach that -- you can donate here ([link removed]) ), but we've helped save a lot of lives and helped redeem the shame on our country for abandoning our allies and some of our own citizens.

We've also received some heart-warming thank you messages from Afghans and others involved in the rescue efforts, including the letter below from Zainab Khan, who was one of the courageous Muslim women featured in Honor Diaries ([link removed]) , the Clarion Project documentary about the human rights violations in many Muslim societies and the courageous women who are fighting for change in the Muslim world.

The story below is unusual in that the family was Christian and they ended up in the U.S. A number of our supporters have expressed concern about unvetted Muslims coming to the U.S. and potentially bringing a jihadist ideology with them. We are keenly aware of the dangers of this, and have already received intelligence from Afghan sources identifying Taliban sympathizers among the evacuees and others with ties to the Taliban who were already in our country. It's clear that the danger from Muslim extremists in the U.S. is increasing in the wake of the Taliban takeover, and that our work - identifying these extremists and helping the authorities get them off the streets - is going to increase as well.

All the people we are helping have had their documentation vetted by security experts who know what to look for, and we are not bringing them to the U.S. We are helping them escape to neighboring countries where they don't face the threat of death or enslavement.

On behalf of the entire Clarion Project team, I thank you for your generosity and support in helping create a safer world for all.

Dear Ryan,

I hope this email finds you in good health and contentment.

I want to personally thank you for your personal assistance during the harrowing period of evacuation in Afghanistan.

I had reached out to you for help, particularly in a case for Zainab N, an American citizen who had family in Kabul. Zainab has been part of MALA since 2016, and her family is Hazara Christian (double minorities in Afghanistan).

They were in immediate threat of being hunted down. Her sister was also beaten to death for attending American University in Kabul.

I had sent you their documents, and followed up with you at odd hours for over ten days. You were always gracious to respond back.

Initially, we had tried through multiple avenues and email addresses that were provided through various WhatsApp groups.

After speaking with you and the information that I provided you for the evacuees, immediate action took place within two days.

Miraculously, the family was evacuated and are now in Indiana waiting for next steps on relocation. Zainab’s family consisted of 7 individuals, one being a 1 year old infant. I will share photos with you after I receive consent.

I am in the process of trying to organize relocation and assimilation/acculturation efforts through MALA. Any direction or guidance will be appreciated.

I had also sent you information about Monica R., a family friend who worked for the World Food Program and is a US Green Card holder. We are still awaiting for her evacuation, but thanks to the resources you sent over, they have been put on a list for immediate evacuation from the State Department. This also happened within 24 hours of speaking with you and the resources and directions you provided.
Ryan, I cannot thank you enough or repay you in any way for your kindness, dedication, and nobility in helping these lives be saved. This situation hit home for me, as my own Father left Afghanistan in the late 1950s. If it wasn’t for his decision to leave, I wouldn’t be around today.

You’ve shown that regardless of faith, we are all human and deserve a chance at life. You’ve shown the true American leadership of democracy, freedom of choice and creed, and standing for the values that make our nation the greatest in this world.

My words of gratitude remain an understatement.
