Friends,

In July, the Trump administration proposed a host of restrictions that would make many Americans who currently rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP benefits) ineligible for these benefits.

These restrictions came with no attempts to address the underlying causes of hunger or why so many Americans currently rely on the program -- and now, more than 3 million Americans are at risk of losing food stamps.

We cannot allow this to stand. Add your name next to Dr. Kim Schrier's, and demand the Trump administration stop these cuts.

Of the millions of Americans at risk of losing their benefits, 17,000 are students right here in Washington state.

Right now, students automatically qualify for free school meals if their household is eligible for SNAP benefits. But if the number of students who are eligible for free meals through SNAP drops under a certain quota at a specific school, the school will lose the ability to provide free meals to everyone.

Listen, this would jeopardize the academic future of these students.

It is the job of the federal government to make sure children don't go hungry -- so please add your name and join Kim in demanding they stop the cuts to SNAP.
