Nobody knew who Katie Porter, Jamie Raskin, Ilhan Omar, or Rashida Tlaib were when we endorsed them. Now, they are all powerhouse progressive leaders in Congress.

BIG NEWS! Today, we are proud to announce not one, but TWO bold progressive endorsements for Congress: State Representative Omari Hardy in Florida’s 20th District and Brittany Ramos DeBarros in New York’s 11th District.
In Florida, progressives can make gains in an open Democratic seat. In New York, we can flip a red seat that Democrats won in 2018 but lost in 2020.
Omari Hardy is a community organizer in Florida who was raised by two moms and is a fierce advocate for working-class and marginalized people. He has championed bold progressive policies that empower everyday Americans such as Medicare For All and a Green New Deal. He will continue to stand up to powerful interests -- including standing up to Big Sugar's harmful practices.
Ramos DeBarros is an Afro-Latina Staten Islander who was raised in a military family and a progressive combat veteran who served in Afghanistan. She is running on a bold progressive platform of a Green New Deal, Medicare for All, affordable housing, Universal Pre-K, and a comprehensive approach to national security that leverages diplomacy and proactive cooperation.
John, these two progressive endorsements come not a moment too soon. Wall Street funders formed Super PACs and are spending millions to back corporate Democrats who will block the Democratic agenda. They don’t want to force corporations to finally pay their fair share in order to tackle climate change and pay for millions of jobs, child care, and health care.
The Florida 20th has been vacant since the April death of Democratic Rep. Alcee Hastings. It’s one of the most Democratic districts in Florida -- and there is no excuse for it to be represented by a corporate Democrat who will block big ideas. In a crowded race, there are multiple good choices. We’re endorsing Omari Hardy here because we need more organizers in Congress who have a track record of challenging corporate power.
We're particularly impressed by Omari’s record of standing up to the sugar industry, which has been releasing dangerous particles ('Black Snow') into the air across his district, causing asthma and a host of health issues for South Florida residents.
In Congress, Omari will be on the front lines alongside a new generation of progressive fighters in Congress -- organizing on behalf of Medicare For All, a Green New Deal, expanding Social Security, and more. Donate to Omari Hardy here.
The New York 11th District is very much a swing district that includes Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn in New York City. Democrats won the seat in 2018 but lost it in 2020 to a Republican who opposed an independent commission to investigate the Jan 6th attack on Congress, voted to overturn the election in two states, and voted against President Biden's $1.9 trillion COVID relief package. The district is expected to become more Democratic with the upcoming redistricting.
Brittany Ramos DeBarros has strong local roots and can bring together the diverse coalition needed to win back this important swing district. As a combat veteran who has seen the destabilizing and destructive effects of endless war up close, she believes that we cannot cultivate safety and security with violence -- and that climate change is the largest national security threat facing our generation today.
Her inspiring background and bold stances will help mobilize voters to the polls, and when she's in Congress she will never back down from a fight. For progressives to win on issues like Medicare For All, a Green New Deal, expanding Social Security, and other top priorities, we need more fighters like Brittany Ramos DeBarros in Congress. Donate to Brittany Ramos DeBarros here.
Thanks for being a bold progressive.
