Ohio Republicans unveil new state legislative maps preserving GOP Statehouse supermajority, despite anti-gerrymandering rules - Cleveland.com

BREAKING: Today, the Ohio GOP proposed a new map with districts that are even more gerrymandered than the current ones.

If put into effect, the new maps would rig the playing field in favor of the politicians drawing them, giving the Ohio GOP an edge in 67 out of 99 House seats and 25 out of 33 Senate seats in the state legislature -- a split that doesn't come close to reflecting actual voters in the state.

These gerrymandered maps fly in the face of what Ohio voters want -- Ohioans voted overwhelmingly to put an end to partisan gerrymandering, twice.

But that’s the thing: These Ohio politicians are putting their own political interests over the interests of Ohio voters. They'd rather protect their own political careers than work for the Ohioans they're supposed to serve.

We need to organize twice as hard to make sure we can elect Dignity of Work leaders who will protect voting rights, combat voter suppression, and protect the integrity of our democracy in Ohio and across the country. Your generous contributions help us do that. If you can, chip in today.
