John, I hope you and your family had a restful Labor Day weekend.

The first Labor Day holiday was celebrated on September 5th, 1882 by the Central Labor Union in New York City. Unions across the country have long fought to improve workplace conditions, protect the right to organize, and sustain the American dream, but they need our help.

Graph showing income inequality growing as union membership declines.

Unions are the backbone of the middle class. But as unions have come under attack and membership has dropped, income inequality has increased.

Corporate America has been attacking unions for decades to line their own pockets at the expense of workers. We can’t continue on this trend — will you chip in so Hank can fight for the rights of workers in America?

We need greater protections for labor in this country. That’s why Hank supports the PRO Act, which will protect the right to organize and give workers a fair shake. For too long, companies have exploited loopholes in the law to penalize workers.

If we work together, we can pass the PRO Act and level the playing field for workers.

Thanks for joining our fight John,

— Hank Johnson
