John,
Students around the country have returned to their classrooms, including my three daughters who started 2nd, 5th, and 8th grades yesterday. It is an exciting, yet challenging and worrisome time as we contend with the ongoing pandemic and delta variant.
What happens in our schools matters to me deeply. As a proud public school graduate and parent, I believe wholeheartedly in the value and purpose of public education.
In Congress, I have advocated for strengthening our public education system, including our early childhood programs like Head Start. I even introduced bipartisan legislation to allow Head Start programs to receive federal work-study dollars. From the earliest days of schooling, young children should have high-quality educational opportunities, as Head Start provides.
I also understand the value of adequately funding our schools. With enough resources, our teachers and administrators are empowered to make a positive difference in the next generation. I am committed to advocating for Central Virginia’s children to have the best possible educational opportunities, which requires sufficient funding.
I’m proud to be a tireless advocate in Congress for our nation’s students from the day they enter school to the day they graduate. Central Virginia families who want to see their children learn and thrive have an ally in Congress as long as I serve.
To help me continue working on issues that matter, like education, will you contribute to my re-election campaign today?

Have a safe, healthy, and meaningful school year ahead,
Abigail
