Follow Us on Social ‌ ‌ ‌ President's Message Student Sleep Health Week is coming up next week, but students aren't the only ones who benefit from good sleep habits. Sleep is essential to health and is one of the pillars of a healthy lifestyle. Good sleep habits are part of a self-care routine that school nurses can implement as we begin the school year. You can see ways to implement these habits here. A few tips include: Establish a relaxing bedtime routine. Make your bedroom quiet and relaxing. Keep the room at a comfortable, cool temperature. Turn off electronic devices at least 30 minutes before bedtime. (I know I struggle with this too -- it's too easy to be "on" all the time!) I wish you good health and restorative sleep as we begin this school year. Linda Mendonça, DNP, RN, PHNA-BC, NCSN, FNASN NASN President BETTER HEALTH.
