After the long overdue removal of the Robert E. Lee statue in Richmond yesterday, former President Donald Trump released a bizarre statement defending one of the biggest traitors in the history of our country.

Just watched as a massive crane took down the magnificent and very famous statue of “Robert E. Lee On His Horse” in Richmond, Virginia. It has long been recognized as a beautiful piece of bronze sculpture.

If only we had Robert E. Lee to command our troops in Afghanistan, that disaster would have ended in a complete and total victory many years ago. What an embarrassment we are suffering because we don’t have the genius of a Robert E. Lee!

It’s no surprise Donald Trump has an affinity to traitors who want to overthrow the United States government. But, his statement comes on the heels of reports that he’s staffing up for a presidential bid in 2024, and he’s got a lot of money in the bank to run a serious campaign.
