Justice Democrats

Unbelievable, John.

Conservative Democrats like Joe Manchin want to cut the $3.5 trillion spending bill to just $1.5 trillion. It will reduce investments in health care, climate action, and child care. But like Bernie Sanders, AOC, and other progressive leaders have said — $3.5 trillion was already a hard-fought compromise. Bernie’s original proposal as Budget Chair was $6 trillion!

We can’t give in to corporate interests like Exxon, Pfizer, and Disney, who have spent millions of dollars fighting the progressive priorities in the reconciliation package. We know that in order to really build back better, we need a big and bold investment to ensure everyone has health care, education, and quality infrastructure.

With these new developments, the fight against watering down the $3.5 trillion spending bill is on. Will you stand with AOC, Bernie, and the rest of our progressive coalition by chipping in so we can continue this fight?

Further compromises would be to go backward and sacrifice popular investments in climate action, child care, and more job creation, which is why we can’t let establishment Democrats fold to the corporations who have fought this reconciliation package tooth and nail. All while profits have soared during the pandemic at the expense of the American people.

It’s clear: With President Biden in the White House AND a Congressional majority, we don’t need to concede to Exxon or negotiate with Republicans. We need Democrats to do their job and pass a budget that will benefit the people — not corporate interests. If you’re with us in this fight, will you chip in $3 right now?

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
