Friend,
The United States of America does not capitulate to a “Red Line” drawn by terrorists. But unfortunately last month, the administration did exactly that.
In what is unequivocally the biggest foreign policy embarrassment our country has witnessed in decades, we left behind so much that we fought for, and so many who fought for us, in Afghanistan.
To the servicemembers who died, and their families and friends who mourn their loss eternally, I want to say may God grace these families, our military, and our Nation in this dire time of need.
The unfortunate reality was that this crisis was completely avoidable. It didn’t have to happen.
As we reflect on the horrors that unfolded last month, and the horrors that we have now exposed ourselves to in the future, I ask that we never forget those who we lost and demand more from our leaders in Washington. I will continue to fight for more accountable leadership, and form bipartisan coalitions on Capitol Hill to seek truth and justice as we get answers to ALL of our questions.
Thank you and be well,
